The little red bike in
a sea of orange and blue...

Heck yea, the XR200 is still a
very competitive machine for woods, desert, historic m/x. Check out
the pics and letter we received from our good buddy Al.
Wanted to give you a update! Had a real good year in
2004 racing the XR200R. One of the most interesting was on Oct 17
when Jeff ran the LOBOS Heppner Fall Classic (80 mile high- desert
cross country). Entered in the +40 class with all the modern
rides. Ended up winning the +40 class and finished 25th overall out
of 68 riders, and ran 2/3 of the second lap on a flat rear tire.
His first lap time was faster than nearly half the open experts second lap
time........sure would like to have seen what he could have done
without the flat. I attached a couple pictures.......hope nobody
laughed in the first picture as only one of them turned a faster
first lap time, and overall he finished ahead of all of them. Sure
turned some heads to what a 46 year old guy can do with a 20 year
old design 218cc 4-stroke bike!

Woodland has been good also, won the Unlimited Int.
class in Dec against the big bores. No race in Jan (ice) and we're
getting ready for Feb 12.
Pete made the comment when we were down to see you
that XR200's had won races against many larger bikes, YZ400's etc.
Tell him Jeff is carrying on the tradition, and also picking off the
modern KTM 300's, 520's etc.
Be sure and tell everyone hello........and let them
know Team Old School XR is going strong!

When conditions get tough, sometimes bigger isn't
better.
Sometimes bigger is just....bigger!
